Desde pequenina que demonstrei interesse em todas as artes antigas tais como crochet, tricot, bordados, ponto cruz,... Aprendi a fazer crochet com cerca de 6 anos. O facto de viver numa aldeia facilitou a minha aprendizagem visto que todas as pessoas mais velhas que me rodeavam sabiam fazer estas coisas e tinham tempo disponível para me ensinar. Aprendi as bases de tudo, porém aquele que quis prosseguir com mais paixão foi o crochet. Foi ele que conquistou o meu coração desde o primeiro ponto.
Este ano, na faculdade, tive oportunidade de voltar a fazer crochet mais regularmente para um projeto. Isso veio fazer com que desenvolvesse muito mais técnicas e pesquisasse muito mais sobre o assunto, incentivada também pelas professoras. E como em tudo na vida, acabei por encontrar artistas desta arte que me inspiraram fosse em pontos, em técnicas ou simplesmente com as suas fotografias inspiradoras. E hoje venho partilhar com vocês esses meus ídolos!

Since I was little I showed interest in all the ancient arts such as crochet, tricot, embroidery, cross stitch, ... I learned how to crocheting with 6 years old. Live in a village made my learning easier, because all the older people around me knew how to do these things and had time to teach me. I learned the basics of everything, but the one that wanted to continue with more passion was the crochet. It was it who won my heart from the first stich.
This year, in college, I had the opportunity to crochet more regularly for a project. This made me develop many more techniques and made me research much more about the subject, all this encouraged by the teachers. And like in everything in life, I ended up finding artists of this art that inspired me whether it was in points, in techniques or simply with their inspiring photographs. And today I come to share with you my idols!

Quando encontrei trabalhos da Lidia pelo Pinterest o meu coração bateu mais rápido. Apaixonei-me logo pelas suas peças de joalharia (que combinam várias técnicas com enfoque no crochet). São peças diferentes de tudo o que já vi, daí me ter interessado mais pelo seu trabalho e de hoje se ter tornado uma das minhas maiores inspirações nesta área! As suas peças são muito inspiradas pelas formas da natureza como ela diz: "The natural world is an inexhaustible and unlimited inspiration, I think that’s the main reason I chose it".

When I found Lidia's work on Pinterest, my heart beat faster. I fell in love with your jewelery pieces (which combine various techniques with focus on crochet). They are different of everything that I have seen, that is why I became more interested in their work and today it has become one of my greatest inspirations in this area! Her pieces are very inspired by the shapes of nature as she says: "The natural world is an inexhaustible and unlimited inspiration, I think that's the main reason I chose it ".
Lidia's jewelery has that perfect balance between the traditional and the contemporary, she managed to elevate this art to another level!

2- Vanessa Barragão
O primeiro contacto que tive com o trabalho da Vanessa foi no Behance. Ela estudou na mesma faculdade que eu, isso suscitou logo um maior interesse da minha parte. A primeira coisa a chamar-me a atenção foram as sua belíssimas fotografias. Eu adoro aquelas fotos do "work in progress" quando a secretária está um caos cheia de material por todo o lado e os projetos ainda estão bem no começo. Acho este tipo de fotografias inspiradoras, talvez porque ficamos com aquela sensação de que também estamos a fazer parte do processo..
A Vanessa faz tapeçarias inspiradas pelo fundo do mar, com corais e plantas marinhas. É magnifica a maneira como ela consegue fazer formas tão realistas, tão orgânicas, que nos catapultam realmente para um recife de corais.

The first contact I had with Vanessa's work was at Behance. She studied in the same college as me, this aroused more curiosity about her stuff. The first thing that struck me was her beautiful photographs. I love those "work in progress" photos when the desk is chaotic with stuff all over the place and the projects are still in the beginning. I find these kind of photos inspiring, perhaps because we get that feeling that we are also being part of the process...
Vanessa makes tapestries inspired by the seabed, with corals and marine plants. It's amazing how she manages to make such realistic shapes, so organic, they really catapult us into a coral reef.

Quando fui parar à página da Sara no instagram segui de imediato! É impossível não observar cada foto em detalhe e ler as descrições. O seu feed emana uma energia super positiva e inspira-me de uma maneira que nem consigo descrever! O que me conquistou logo no trabalho da Sara foi a simplicidade... As suas peças são simples, mas cunhadas de imensa personalidade!

When I went to the page of Sara on instagram I followed her immediately! It's impossible not to observe each photo in detail and read the descriptions. Her emanates super-positive energy and inspires me in a way I can't even explain! Sara's work quickly gained my admiration because the simplicity implicit... Her pieces are simple, but coined with lots of personality!

De todas as artistas referidas, a Vibe foi a que descobri mais recentemente. O seu feed do instagram é do mais cor-de-rosa que há por isso, escusado será dizer, que me despertou logo a atenção... Somando isso ao facto de fazer os coelhinhos mais fofos de sempre!! Se me pedissem uma palavra para descrever o seu trabalho era fácil: fofo! As suas peças são do mais querido que há! Só usa linha em tons pastel o que torna tudo ainda mais mimoso!
Se adoram esta estética quase infantil de tão fofinha, como eu, não deixem de visitar o seu instagram, vão se apaixonar!

Of all the artists mentioned, Vibe was the one I discovered most recently. Your instagram feed is the most pink ever, so obviously, it just caught my attention immediately ... And she makes the cuteest bunnies ever!! Describe their work in a word is easy: cute! Your pieces are the most precious! She only use pastel thread so this makes everything even more cuddly!
